The oath is a short film set around the issue of hate crime, particularly the Indian Sikh community.
Mistaken or deliberately targeted, many Sikhs have heard racial slurs including being called names like 'Bin Laden'. What ever the nature, in a country that prides in diversity and is built by immigrants, no one should be discriminated because of how they look.
This is a special film for us because as a Tibetan we are indebted to the great Indian nation. Our parents rebuilt their lives in India and were warmly welcomed in the dire situation as refugees. They survived selling woollen goods on the roads of India. The goods were mostly loans from businessmen in Ludhiana, Punjab. The relationship still exists.
This film is our tribute to the generous nation and the sikh community.
