Synopsis

Dharamshala, Northern India is the hub of Tibetan activities in exile. McLeod Ganj, known as little Lhasa, is few kilometers above Dharamshala and it is where The Dalai Lama resides. Amid the cluster of exile government offices, institutions and organizations ordinary refugees live with hopes of returning to Tibet someday. However, a generation has changed and so have dreams, desires and aspirations of the people, especially the younger ones. This story is about them.

SHIVA CAFE, away from the town is a perfect little place for young men to kill time. Disillusioned, unemployed and rejected our four protagonists friends spend time here too. Israel, Palestine, J&K, Bin Laden, NBA, Lord of the rings, all is part of their lives as ours. Run and owned by a local Indian, town people however look at Shiva cafe in contempt.

Damdul, mute and orphan has a contented life, so it seems especially with his little bread selling business and passion for filming his friends going on well. Obscure, but observant, Damdul is difficult to read. No one can really understand what is in his mind.

Tenzin, an unemployed youth wants go to America where he thinks lies solution for all his problems, but his father who works for the Tibetan government expects that his son do the same. Conflict in priorities separates them further away from each other.

Tsering, a carefree man, his life's choices has separated him from his wife, but now he is being separated from his little daughter too by his ex-father-in-law, however an unexpected love affair not only brings him back his life but also a new family.

Pasang is a new arrival from Tibet and has a past filled with pain and hatred. A cousin has also made it into exile and brought him news of far greater loss than he had expected. A writer by hobby, Pasang authors plays to express his feelings. He has written a play for the coming up drama competition and is acting in it too. He is secretive about its contents calling it 'sensitive'.

All is not well always for these young men in their little world. A theft in town changes everything.

Suspected and alienated these four friend's lives take a course that seems to be pushing them towards the dreaded path of violence and terrorism. A twist in story changes everything, especially when one of them takes it seriously. Who is it?
